Preparing Your Home to Sell

Let's talk about something near and dear to your heart, or perhaps intimidating, for anyone thinking about selling your home.  The art of preparing your home to sell.  

In a previous blog post, we talked about the old way of doing things and we called it the three (3) p's.

• Put your home on the MLS
• Place a sign in the yard
• Pray that it sells

Unfortunately, in today's market, we still have a lot of folks still operating in this way.  However, we want to concentrate on the new three (3) p's. 

• Pricing strategy
• Promotion - our go-to-market plan
• Preparation

So, let's talk about preparation or preparing your home to sell.  Think of it as a product you buy at a retail store.  Imagine the packaging, the presentation of the box, and the design. How does that product make you feel?  Excited to open it?  How does the product compare to other products like it?  Is the product inferior, equal to, or superior to others?  When products are prepared with attention to detail, they can often times be offered at a premium price.  

The same rules apply to your home.  

If you are a seller eager to prepare your home you still need to be careful. You can easily tackle projects that do not produce a return on investment.
